About Seller Summit Medical Clinic has been a part of Kamloops since the early 1990s. Two young doctors moved from Logan Lake and set up a walk-in clinic at a strip mall on Summit Drive. The Clinic was open until 9:00pm and Walk-in clinics were on their way into Medical culture. Neither of the first two doctors practice at Summit Clinic today. In 1999 Summit Clinic moved down the hill to a new mall at 1380 Summit Drive where we have been for the past fifteen years. The Clinic is appreciated by the patients who are without a family doctor. In Kamloops, that is a large number. There are many patients whose Family Doctor is within the Clinic. Unfortunately none of the Doctors can take on new patients. Summit Clinic accommodates as many patients as it can. Summit Clinic fills quickly as patients call or line up to get the walk-in spots available. Itâ€™s a new twist on meeting medical needs but the parking is free and the patients learn to deal with the system. Patients recognize that the Doctors are doing the best they can under the circumstances. If there are 10,000 people in Kamloops without a Family Doctor, we canâ€™t accommodate all of them at once nor can anybody else. Recognize that our staff have to deal with the same concerns you have but much more frequently. Best advice for the walk-in patient: get here early. Sign in on the sign-up sheet near the door (outside). The first people to sign up are the first ones called at 9:00am when the Clinic opens its doors. The staff will handle the rest. On weekends, we donâ€™t answer the phone so you have to make an appearance to make an appointment. We work 9:00am to 2:00pm on Saturdays, Sundays and most holidays. If we are full for the day, we will direct you to other clinics that may have room. If you have an appointment and decide you are not going to make it back, please call us and let us know so somebody else can see a Doctor in your spot.
